A recent Heveatech decking project of ours was a first for us. What seemed to be ‘just-another-renovation-project’ for a soon-to-be-opened restaurant on The Street at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara in PJ, Selangor turned out to be quite an interesting one.
From the very beginning, the project designers set out to create something a little different from the norm, wanting to create an ambience that is not only attractive and cosy but unique as well. This resulted in the use of Heveatech engineered wood decking in ways that were never done before (at least here in Malaysia, we think!).
In addition to the regular timber decking on the floor, we were posed with the challenge of installing the wood onto the roofs of several outdoor dining containers and onto their outdoor seating area in the form of a custom-designed wooden bleacher. The wood feature in their design concept carries through to include carefully placed wooden planter boxes that served to ‘complete the look’.
While the project was not one as straightforward or as quick to complete as our regular timber decking projects, our team rose above the challenges and delivered – above and beyond our client’s expectations!
